Our First Words

We can utter some words recently & these are some words that come out from us..

Car, ball, cat, phant (as in elephant)

We hear Charlton calling Mama and Royston calling Daddy...not really clear pronunciation but we can make out what you are uttering.

We realised both of you have been humming & uttering words. We will encourage you wholeheartedly and you will speak clearly on simple words very soon.

Happy Xmas 2008

We partied the whole day today !!! We went to Grandma house to exchange gifts with our cousins, then we went to Uncle Michael house for Xmas gathering & the last place is to attend cousin Wynn's 1yr old birthday. We enjoyed ourselves so much today !
Mummy clip the tiny Xmas hat on us and aren't we cute !? We liked the Rudolph clothes mummy wear us today too.

Happy 17th mths !

We celebrated this day at Turf City/Fidgets !!! This is the 2nd time you went there. Mummy likes this place because the indoor play area caters for young toddlers for both of you. You throw balls, you climb up the low-rise slide, you ride the Little Tikes cars and you walk around freely in the comfortable soft colored cushions. Aston gor gor also enjoyed himself thoroughly at the kids zone, there are so many mazes that he need to climb up and walk through and he complete them by himself.
In another 7 mths' time, you will be 2yrs old and you will be eligible to climb these mazes with Aston gor gor.

At 17mths old, Charlton is more mobile than Royston. Charlton talks more and explore new things on his own. Royston is more quiet, like to flip books & is always in deep thoughts. One behavior which mummy is very happy with is both of you listens to my instructions willingly with very little whines, for eg, when I says cannot throw towels, cannot throw toys, pass the book to mummy or wait for milk and porridge to be served.

Recognising pictures, words and numbers

This is about Royston. Mummy pasted the photo frames, number charts, A-Z picture charts & counting charts around the dining and living areas. This is one way both boys can learn freely in their own creative ways. Royston always point to the photo frames to find himself, you also know to point to elephant, ball and car and this evening I hear you say two. You learn things pretty fast & like flash cards since young. You can stay for about 5 minutes waiting for mummy to complete flashing the picture cards. You & Charlton also like to take books and flip and flip. There are books inside the cars for you to take and flip. I think this is good way to cultivate both boys to learn reading books as they grow older.

A mind of his own

This is about Charlton. You are having your bath last evening in the bath tub for about 10minutes. Scared it is too long for you to soak in the water, mummy tried to get you out from bath tub & you refused. I tried to take away the cup that you used to scoup the water in & out and you whined, so no choice I continue let you enjoy your bath for another 5minutes. After a short while, you placed the cup on the floor and started to flip flap the water. You really like to play in the water. Which kid doesn't like ? Royston and Aston also like to play in the water. It is another time I wanted to get you out from the bath tub and this time you happily get up and let me wipe you and dressed into your pyjamas. Mummy is happy that I did not force you out from the bath. You willingly get out after a short while. Good boy..muacks muacks muacks !!!!!

Daddy love for the boys

We need to go to Suntec City to buy a washing machine from the Electrical fair. It is the last day of the fair so we thought go there take a look and buy it at the low price. We decided to bring Aston & Charlton along with us. We can only handle two children. Joan agrees to take care Royston so Royston will stay behind. I know daddy feel bad about leaving Royston at home. He brought Royston to have a short shopping trip to NTUC just now and I guess daddy is trying to be fair not to let Royston miss out going outdoors.

Wah wah wah....loud cries :(

Royston has been crying very loud for the last few days. Did you play too much during day time ? You are suddenly awakened from deep sleep and cry fiercely. This seems to be what the old folk says "hum been". I dashed into your bedroom and quicky stuff pacifier into your mouth. No cries now. Hope you can sleep better now after drinking the colic drops.

Mummy & Son bonding

Charlton is very observant to what mummy is wearing. You notice that mummy wear different clothings and want me "bao bao" you, like you want to go out "gai gai". You will point to the door & blah some words that means asking me carry you out. These few days when you see mummy walking down the stairs, you will get ready get up and walk towards the dining area and raise your hands up. Mummy will carry you on my lap, I take my breakfast and you sit on my lap patiently. Then mummy will continue carry you to daddy's car and after telling you we are getting ready to go work, you will reach out for 阿媽 to go for your morning strolls.

Father & Son bonding

Royston will always sit besides daddy every morning watching how daddy feed the fishes and drink coffee. He will normally play the coffee stirrer after daddy finish drinking the coffee. When Charlton want to join the fun, Royston will beat his hands to shun him away. We are amused by Royston's actions, is it he did not like to be disturbed in his bonding with daddy ? Mummy thought that it is better to be careful of Royston's quiet character. It looks like some sort of selfishness, dislikes sharing or self-centerness. We must enforce good character building for them.

Good memory

Charlton took one scotch tape from one cupboard in the living and started to play with it for a short while. Shortly, he walked to another cupboard, opened the door and took out one ziplog bag full of scotch tapes and put it inside. He must have seen someone did that before and remember it. Great acheivement for a 15+ mth toddler !

From Toothing to Teething

Both babies have 12 teeths now. 2 central incisors & 2 side incisors each on lower and upper gum and 2 molars each on hind side of lower gum & upper gum. The molars are the most difficult ones to sprout out, however Charlton & Royston did not fuss or whine on those few weeks.

The smiles on your face is very nice and charming now and will even more superb when you have the neat set of teeth ! Soon, will be soon !!!!! Yeah !

Injection hurts

Both babies took the 15mth MMR jab today. Royston took the jab first because you are already very sleepy and starts to whine when we reach the clinic. You cried very loudly and burst into tears. The next is Charlton, he looks happy and did not realise the jab about to poke onto him. He cries the moment he lie on the cushion getting ready for the jab. Charlton suppressed his cries for a few seconds before it become full blown loudness.

There are chicken pox to take during 16mth and Polio&DTPa to take during 18mth.
Hopefully by then both babies will build up their pain threshold index.

At 15mths, Charlton has grown to 10.4kg and Royston has grown to 9.9kg.

Start to bath by yourself ??

Just now at 外婆 house, Royston was walking around the house and from room to room. The moment you are in 外婆's room, you continue walked and walked and walked into the washroom. Daddy was behind you ensuring you do not fall down. The next you did is you pick up the plastic basin and cup and daddy called out for mummy and told me that you are like wanting to have a bath. So the next thing Mummy did was prepare the hot water from the kettle and pour into the basin and prepare for your bath. You simply enjoy the bath and enjoying scouping the water into the cup and pouring it away. You bathed for about 10mins and we cannot continue you for too long in case you catch cold and fall sick. Grap you and wrap you in towel and put on fresh clothes and happy you go playing with other children in the living room.

WE ARE TWINS !

姑姑develop this photo for mummy before she left for Japan yesterday morning. She told me the lady who is developing the photo thought it is one baby with a mirror image so becomes two same babies. Both Chalton and Royston are identical twins and naturally are splitting images of each other. Mummy decorated the photo by sticking some cute and nice stickers and frame it.

Cool cool look !

Same place doing same thing where you see these 3 boys wearing the same cool shade. Aston gor gor recently wore it and mummy then realised last year at 5 mths old, Charlton & Royston also wore it.

Mid Autumn Day

Charlton & Royston are exactly 14mths old. You can walk quite well now, only Royston needs more practices. Practice makes perfect & very soon you will walk very well. You are also crawling and we are very happy too. This should be done few mths ago & we really thot you will not crawl and we will miss the memory. But who knows.. you are making something impossible ..good good..Clap clap !!

Today is also happy day for 三姨。。she has given birth this morning around 10plus am to a cute pretty gal..which is your 表妹. She is called Kyla. We visited her this afternoon and it's very happy moment to see one new addition to the family.

Walking

Both Charlton & Royston started to learn to walk slowly & steadily. Charlton can now walk on his own but still some help to walk freely around and also walking on stairs around the living area. Rosyton is learning hard too on his walking lessons. He is a smart boy & he is catching up soon and it will be real fun to see these two toddlers waddling their way in the house, outside the garden ...:)...then many adults running after them..:) ...

Toilet training

Joan aunty told mummy that she is going to toilet train Royston. Royston is more cooperative and seems having fun sitting there. Look at the last picture, he succeeded in the poooing...

Not for Charlton, he is more timid, he cries when he sat there.

生日快乐！！！！！

We had wanted to bring you to take this jab when you are younger. Aston gor gor is in childcare & can bring back virus. We are concerned over the high costs, yes, we admit, so did not go for this jab. So thankful that you fight back well at times when you have flu or fever. Finally, we visit SBCC for Pneumococcal injection this morning. Both cried the moment Dr Koh jab on you.

The nurse also done the normal routine checkings and your growth chart is :
1)Charlton : wt 9.6kg, ht 74cm
2)Royston : wt 9.4kg, ht 72cm

We're 1 year old !

We hold a BBQ birthday party to celebrate for Charlton and Royston on Sat. Both Charlton and Royston were very happy and keep our guest very occupied the whole evening. You also slept at 10plus that day & we think you cant bear to sleep because guests have not left. Both of you played toys for a while and slept shortly.

Perfect presents done

Mummy started to get the pictures done in powerpoint & print them out onto photo printer. I created 4 pictures on Monday and the balance 8 pictures on Tueday late evening. All these are done in the office and I left for home around 8pm. After a very rush dinner, I decided to try doing the first frame & go for a bath. The first frame was done around 9pm plus and I like it and carry on doing one by one and before I realised it’s 1am and I have not bathed !! At that time, I have completed 7 frames. I remember about Merlinda’s SB passion and keep myself quite determined to complete the other 5 frames. All 12 photo frames were completed last night@3pm.

I feel so sleepy now as I only slept for 4hrs. But all efforts is worthwhile. My colleagues saw the photo frames and most of them praised me for this awesome job done. It is like getting an A+ for my report card !

Hee hee..I feel so proud with my maiden SB project !

Scrapbooking - success or failure ??

Few weeks back, Mummy got the idea of scrapbooking your last 12 mths photos & decorate them onto photo frames and finally paste them in our living room. In this way, during your birthday this sat, friends and relatives can see the nice pictures. So as excited as I am, I bought the scrapbooking materials, papers, stickers & embellishments from Laine's Papeterine..thanks to Aunty Merlinda to lend me her discount card and I spend roughly S$100 plus for the items. The next thing is I bought 12 pieces of IKEA photo frames. I should get ready by having the photos printed and start the scrapbooking. Mummy is lacked of confidence and in the end did not start at all. I am now left with 5 days to complete the work and I really wonder if I can...I will try my best...these are some of the digital scrapbooking pictures that I created this morning..

Birthday Invitation card

In about 10 days' time, Charlton and Royston will turn one year old. We are now inviting close friends and relatives for the BBQ dinner celebration.

Rudolph

Royston has now become Rudolph, the red nose Reindeer...
He is stung by mosquitoes very often. Despite applying insect repellant on him daily, pasting mosquitoe citronella in the living room/bed rooms, these mosquitoes just did not spare him and this time bite his nose.

Mummy is crazy over Digital Scrapbooking lately and this is what mummy has created today ! Isn't it nice ?

Pointing and Naming

Mummy read to both of you some board books on simple words and easy to understand pictures. We read car, cat, ball, cake, puzzle, dog, cow, rabbit, bicyle...
Everyday, you have morning walks and evening walks around the neighbourhood. Ah ma told me that you can point out to cat and dog and say the word quite clearly. Well, as long as Ah ma understands mean you say the words clearly.

Picture Maze

Taking pictures for my twins is just so fun ! I click click click and I can have so many pictures. It is even more fun when you need to guess who is Charlton and Royston. But mummy is very very clever now to know who is who. Do you want to make a guess also ?

After haircut

Brought them to my hairdresser for a haircut on Wed. Quite satisfied with it. They very good boy too. Never give the hairdresser much problem as compared to their gor gor when he was baby.

Sweet saliva

Since birth, Royston is taken care by my helper and it's natural that he grew attached to her. At early months, he does not want us to carry , cries when we carry and will only stop when my helper take over him. Mummy is quite sad and slowly have to come to terms to accept it but also try to carry Royston more and talk to him more. Looks like efforts paid off. He seems to like me already. He smiles everytime I talked to him. His smiles is so sweet. Just this morning, he raised his hands asking me to carry him and immediately he counch onto my shoulder and leave down some saliva. It's such sweet feeling !

Routines

Last night, Charlton did not give way to Royston sleep in our room. I think Charlton "already" know or "can" decide that he wants to sleep on our bed and not on his babycot. Oh dear, very soon we will need to decide to dismantle the cots and return to Uncle Richard and 舅母. The same routine happen last night, 阿妈 also played the Lovely Music CD to coax you to sleep but you refuse to sleep. You actually waited for mummy to coax you to sleep at around 10plus. You slept soundly til daybreak 6pm and drank milk and around 730am, mummy brought you downstairs to have your daily routine sit on walker walk walk and play play with Royston. Shortly at 8am you have your shower and we left for work. Let's see your 礼让精神 tonite !

Comfy Bed

Charlton was making noises around 8plus last night and looked like he want to sleep.
True enough, he slept the same way like last night. Mummy also played the Lovely Baby Music CD 1 and he dozed off. It is so amazing ! Did you really like the music or the music make you sleep ? Wow, I will be happy to know the power of this music. Charlton slept soundly on our comfy bed and woke up at at this morning 630am to drink milk. Charlton looks so fresh with sparkling eyes and beaming smiles.
I intend to try out on Royston tonight to sleep on our comfy bed. Let's see if Charlton will make noises later. But do hope Charlton can give Royston the chance, ok ?!

Lovely Baby Music

Weather was very warm, stuffy and hazy yesterday. This was due to forest fires in Indonesia by its farmers preparing the lands for farming. Both Charlton and Royston could not go out for the evening stroll as a result. We were perspiring when there are two fans blowing in the living room. I cannot stand the heat anymore and carry Charlton to the bedroom to enjoy the aircon ! I dimmed the lights, played the LovelyBaby CD No 2 and carry Charlton to sleep. Shortly he slept on my bed and that was only 8plus. Guess what then, he slept til this morning 5am plus. He surely slept very soundly in the cool cool aircon room while enjoying the music.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is special day. Other than it's Valentine day, it's so excited that both you are exactly 7mths old today. @7mths' old, you can recognise our voice and faces, you can move quickly in walkers, you like to watch Wheels on the bus as you will set your full attention on the TV when the music is switch on, you can chuckle and make blah blah sounds and you are now learning to sit upright.

Daddy and mummy is dining out later so we will see you later to 抱抱 & 亲亲。
